1. Cayuse Prairie School will be closed if the Montana Department Of Transportation or Flathead Count Sheriffs Office declares “Emergency Travel Only”.

2. Cayuse Prairie School may decide to have a delayed start if we feel weather would permit doing so.

3. Other school closures will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
  How may I find out if school is open or closed?

• Local radio stations will carry our official announcement for school closure.
• Our local TV stations will also carry announcements.
• The district’s messaging system will deliver school closure announcements via Phone Call, Text and Email.
• The district’s Facebook site will have school closure announcements posted.

When will I know if school is closed or on a 2 hour delayed start?

• Decisions regarding school closure or a 2 hour delayed start are made by 6:00 AM each school day and are communicated to families as soon as possible, usually by 6:30 AM.

Will bus routes be normal during severe winter conditions?

• All bus routes that have limited services will be announced on the Radio/TV as well as posted on the above mentioned sites and a message sent out through our message delivery system.

Will Cayuse Prairie School be opening late or dismissed early?

• You will be notified of any changes in the normal schedule by the means already mentioned.

What happens when school is closed for the day?

• No out of district transportation.
• All school activities are cancelled.
• All school sponsored events are closed for the day and evening.

What does a two (2) hour delayed start mean?

• School will begin 2 hours later than the regular start time for your child
• Buses will pick up students on their regular routes 2 hours later than the regular time
• School will end at the regularly scheduled time
• Lunches will occur at the regularly scheduled time
• If possible, all activities will continue as planned. If there are changes, those affected will be notified.
