Daily Interlake Article about Cayuse Alum Matt Jenson

Name: Ryan Corbett
Cayuse Prairie Graduation Year: 2005

Class Size: 30ish

Activities at Cayuse Prairie: Basketball, Cross-Country, Soccer, and Band

Their Best Memory from Cayuse Prairie: My favorite years of school were probably at Cayuse Prairie. Putting on the play Romeo and Juliette, winning rural school basketball tournaments (on that tiny, old, brown gym floor), going on the 8th grade history trip, and hanging art on the ceilings and making stained glass windows.

Their Favorite Teacher: One of my absolute favorite teachers was Mr. Morgan (5th grade). I transferred to Cayuse part way into the school year and he made me feel so welcomed. He always had the most fun projects like cookie cutters to learn all about simple machines. He would read the Chronicles of Narnia in the best voices, and he always provided a safe place to talk if you weren’t feeling great that day. Oh, and Mr. B was the best principal ever!

High School Graduation Year: 2009

Attended High School at: Flathead and Glacier High School

What They Did After High School: I went to George Fox University and played soccer but eventually ended up graduating from Montana State with a BFA in Graphic Design.

Where They are Living Now: Kalispell

What They are Doing Now: I’m married and have a daughter. I am the lead graphic designer at Fresh Life Church in Kalispell.

Cayuse Prairie Impact: Cayuse Prairie was always a safe place. I’m still friends with many students from there and I would be so excited to send my kids there one day. Cayuse never seemed to have any of the problems that the bigger public schools had. I think because of that, the teachers who truly cared, and my classmates, I was set up for success in the best way possible.
