Hello! My name is Betsy Gibson and I have been a teacher here at Cayuse Prairie School since 2006. I am so excited to be our school's librarian! I love introducing new technology to our students and helping them find the information they need. My favorite aspect of being a librarian is matching wonderful books with students who will love to read them. I am super excited about the fabulous new books we have this year! Curious students will find endless treasure here to fuel their imaginations!

I was born and raised not too far away in Spokane, Washington where my family still lives. I went to college at Eastern Washington University to get my teaching degree with a major in reading and a minor in special education. I then taught 6th grade for seven years at a middle school in Portland, Oregon before coming to Cayuse. While there, I earned my Master's Degree in English as a Second Language at The University of Portland. I earned my endorsement for Library Media Specialists at Montana State University.

I was drawn to Montana and the Flathead Valley the moment I saw the spectacular Rocky Mountains, beautiful wildflowers, and sparkling waters of Glacier National Park. I love being outside every season of the year! In the summers I am a hiking and rafting guide in the park showing off this special place to visitors. The rest of the time, I am hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, biking and boating with, my husband Chris, and our
daughters Jorie and Eliza!
